SATURDAY 21ST JANUARY 2012

HOOK NORTON F.C. 2 – CIRENCESTER TOWN “DEVELOPMENT” 1

Hooky took all three points at “The Bourne” on Saturday and continued their recent good form in a well deserved 2-1 victory over a very youthful Cirencester Town “Development” side.

Both sides deserve great credit for putting on a really entertaining match in very difficult playing conditions.

Hooky were ahead on 15 minutes full back Richard Oakey swung in a left wing cross which deceived keeper Luke Berwick in the CTD goal and bounced in off the keepers far post into the net.

The visitors were level on the half hour mark, striker Danny Hale getting on the end of a through ball and slotting the ball past Joe Murrell to level the scores.

Hooky went back in front two minutes later when “The Brewery Boys” were awarded a penalty kick for a foul on Jason Tillcock.

Jamie Wyatt stepped up and coolly rolled the ball into the bottom corner sending the keeper the wrong way.

Wyatt had a great chance to add to his tally going through one on one with the keeper, however on this occasion Berwick pulled off a fine save to deny Wyatt.

HALF TIME 2-1

There was no further addition to the score in the second half.

The only opening of note falling to Wyatt who hit a stunning strike from 20 yards which brought a fine save from Berwick in the CTD goal.

Hooky comfortably held on for a much deserved win.
