UHLSPORT HELLENIC LEAGUE DIVISION ONE (WEST)

HOOK NORTON F.C. 1 : WOOTTON BASSETT TOWN F.C. 1

Hooky’s first home league match of the season ended in a 1:1 draw with Wootton Bassett Town.

The visitors had the better of the few chances that were created in a pretty ordinary first half  it has to be said, which was not helped by some over fussy officiating!

However, the first goal of the game came from the penalty spot on 39 minutes after Danny Cleevely  clearly tripped Matt Bown inside the area.

Bown picked himself up to send Jack Harding in the Hooky goal the wrong way to send the visitors in front at the break.

A much improved second half performance from Hooky saw them create several good chances, Jason Tillcock failing to outfox the keeper in a one on one situation and James Robbins also missing a good chance when through on goal.

It was Robbins, however, who drew “The Brewery Boys” level after 57 minutes finishing off a really good move down the left hand side, Neal Hobday heavily involved in the move crossed for Robbins to fire home the equaliser.

On the whole a draw was a fair result.
